My 4yo and I had this conversation not too long ago:
My 4yo: “Why you lock the door, Mama?”
Me: “So I can pee in peace.”
My 4yo, perplexed: “But…why?”
It’s not a new conversation; I’ve often said that when I had kids, “me time” was also called “going pee.” That is, until they learned to open the door.
But then I started thinking: will there be any privacy in the post-apocalypse? Will there be any doors left to lock? Or will we all just be peeing next to each other?
Hmm…
I’m the same way. I tell my wee lads that bathroom time is private time. In the apocalypse though, I’ll instead be saying, “Hey kids, keep watch while I have a little sitdown time.” Reminds me of one of the rules from Zombieland about going to the bathroom.
Good point–the kids can keep watch during post-apocalyptic bathroom time. They’re gonna follow me anyway lol.
