Beginner prep

Not all of us are seasoned preppers. In fact, even though I’ve done research and stored food and other supplies while living in Texas, my family are not seasoned preppers. Hubby never really thought it was a big deal (even in the middle of hurricane season in the Gulf coast). Until now, apparently. Which is weird, but hey, I’ll take it.

Prepping can be a daunting, even overwhelming task. Chances are, you’ll be filled with all sorts of questions, not the least of which being “What exactly am I planning for?” You’ll also probably wonder what you’ll need, where to get supplies, where to put those supplies after you’ve gotten them, and who to talk to when you’re stumped.

Yeah, I wonder those things, too. Why? Because, compared to a lot of people out there, my family and I are rank beginners when it comes to prepping. As a result, we’re most likely going to start by buying a ready-made survival kit and then adding to it. At least this way, we’ll have someplace to start. And sometimes, having an easy jumping-off point is all it takes to get everyone involved and serious about something. You know?

Anyway, because I like you guys, here’s a list of what I’ve found and compiled so far. (NOTESome of the online stores are Canadian and may not be available in other countries.)

Survival Kits

(Note: aside from Costco and MEC, I have not shopped at these stores. Buyer beware and all that, okay?)
